
TRACT 85: YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN '' Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God'' Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a master of Israel, who came to Jesus during night hour with a burden in his heart regarding the kingdom of heaven. The Lord Jesus knew his heart; wasted no time and answered him in words that he must be born again ''Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God''. It was John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus inspired by God to start water baptism. Sinners humbly came to him, heard the undiluted word of God, repented of sins and submitted themselves for water baptism.
