TRACT 85: YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN

'' Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God''

Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a master of Israel, who came to Jesus during night hour with a burden in his heart regarding the kingdom of heaven. The Lord Jesus knew his heart; wasted no time and answered him in words that he must be born again ''Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God''.

It was John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus inspired by God to start water baptism. Sinners humbly came to him, heard the undiluted word of God, repented of sins and submitted themselves for water baptism. The open water baptism symbolizes total repentance and renouncement of sinful habits. Majority of the Pharisees did not accept the ministerial work of John the Baptist because of ego and self righteousness. Though, Jesus was righteous and without any sin, he humbly submitted himself to John for water baptism so as to tell the word of necessity to fulfilling all righteousness. It is only through Jesus that the Holy Spirit is given. To be born of the Spirit requires total repentance from sin and humbly coming to the Lord Jesus for salvation and sanctification (heart cleansing).

The same plain and true message of the Lord Jesus is coming to you today, ''Ye must be born again!'' Are you a religious devotee, praying to God many times in a day and fasting regularly? You must humble yourself and be born again. Are you a sinner living after the works of the flesh (sexual immoralities, idolatry, drunkenness, strife, hatred, smokiness, bibery, murder, witchcraft, corrupt speeches and uncleanliness)? You must be born again. Are you a backslidden Christian, having friendship with the world of worldliness(wearing seductive wears, sensual make up, watching corrupt scenes, pictures and movies, listening to corrupt speeches and music)? You must be born again. The sad news is that many because of religious ego and worldly lust, will turn deaf ears to the message of the Lord and end up their souls in hell.

The Good News is that God loves you and wants you to attend to the spoken words of Jesus to be born again. He wants you to enter glorious rest in heaven after your pilgrim journey on earth. God wants you to come out of ego, repent of sin and come to the Lord Jesus for heart cleansing and Holy Spirit baptism. Jesus is waiting for you now.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and solemn call unto repentance, salvation, sanctification and Holy Spirit baptism. I believe that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. I repent of all my sins. Have mercy upon me, save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to work in the newness of life in Jesus' Name. Amen
