TRACT 82: STOP BEFRIENDING THE WORLD

''Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God'' James 4:4.

 There are two kingdoms that rule the affairs of this world. One is the kingdom of light while the other is the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of light is controlled by Jesus the Son of God, who desires all living souls to live a life that glorifies God. The kingdom of darkness is controlled by Satan, son of the morning stars, who rebelled against God through his lustful desire to please and exalt himself above God. Satan's mission is make all living souls enemies of God and deceive all men to become lovers of themselves more than God, proud, adulterers and adulteresses ''Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world'' 1 John 2:15-16.

What does it mean to befriend the world? Befriending the world means accepting the dictates of Satan to glorify self rather than God. Putting on harlotry and gay wears is befriending the world. Engaging in sexual immoralities, lusting and undue closeness with opposite sex is befriending the world. Watching corrupt scenes, pictures, and movies is befriending the world. Listening to corrupt utterances and music is befriending the world.

God loves the meek and the humble. He desires all men to live a life that glorifies him. He wants sinners to repent from sin and backsliders to repent from worldliness, pride of life and immoralities. The sad news is that all those who make themselves enemies of God will not make heaven.

The Good News is that God loves you and wants you to make friend with Jesus. It is only Jesus that has the power to make you friend of God and no other prophet. God wants you to repent of all sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Jesus is waiting for you now.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and warning to stop befriending the world of sin. Have mercy upon me and erase all my sins. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to walk in the light of your words in Jesus' Name. Amen
