''But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God'' Mark 10:14.
The greatest spiritual responsibility given by God to all parents is to train their younger ones in the way of the Lord. Children are the favourites of the heavenly Father because they are humble and teachable. The minds of Children are so receptive to whatsoever they are introduced to early in life. They will gladly receive the kingdom of God if taught the way of the Lord. The Saviour Jesus understood this fact that was while he became displeased with the disciples who forbid their parents from bringing their little ones to him. Some parents in this generation claim to be followers of Jesus but expose their little ones to ungodliness and worldliness, and cause them to depart from the ways of the Lord ''Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it'' Proverb 22:6.
How would you say you are a Christian parent when you dress your little ones in the attires of harlot and gay for church activities and social outings? What is the evidence of salvation when your little ones cannot read the Bible through your physical outlook, utterances, relationship with others, music taste and hobbies? Of what significant is your Christianity when your little ones hardly see you praying to God, reading the word of God, attending church fellowship and engaging in Evangelism?
The invasion of worldliness in the church today is as a result of fake salvation experience of some parents and negligence of many Christian parents in spiritual matters. The house of God is gradually turning into fashion parade centers were girls, ladies and women go to display their pride and seduce worshippers; and where worshippers are turning into Pentecostal rascals. There would not have been much nuisance in our societies today had it been Christian's parents woke up to their spiritual responsibility. The sad news is that many parents will miss heaven because of their children.
The Good News is that God loves you and still have interest in your family. He wants you to repent from worldliness and lifeless religious activities, and becomes Bible to your little ones. It is not too late for Jesus to help you rebuild your home. Jesus is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and for calling me unto repentance. Forgive me for misleading my little ones. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to rebuild my home in your ways in Jesus’ Name. Amen
