TRACT 158: SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" - Matthew 6:33.

The kingdom of God is all about doing good and living right. Jesus showed us that the Kingdom is not a place we wait for—it starts here on earth and should be practiced and lived out.

To seek the Kingdom of God is to let God’s character shape our actions: doing good, even when no one sees; living right, even when it is inconvenient; showing love to neighbors and serving God with a holy heart. This is where heaven touches earth.

In the kingdom of God is righteousness (right standing with God and moral integrity) which comes only through faith in Jesus. Faith in Jesus means: (a) Believing He is the only Savior from sin and Satan. (b) Turning away from sin. (c) Walking in obedience to God’s Word. (d) Trusting Him for eternal life.

It is dangerous to pursue only earthly riches without seeking the kingdom of God daily. No one lives on earth forever, and no one takes any earthly possession into eternity. There is no everlasting joy and peace on earth—only in heaven. In Christ, one lives a fulfilled life and has the joy of salvation and peace of mind.

Paradventure, if you desire to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness starting from today, kindly say these words of prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me into the kingdom of God. I believe I can be made righteous in Christ. Have mercy on me and forgive all my sins. Save me, purify my heart, and grant me the grace to seek after righteousness all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
