TRACT 77: SLAVE OR SON?

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” John 1:12.

Does God have wife? The answer is no. Why then do some people say God has Son? These are questions usually subjected to debate by non followers of Jesus. Jesus had no biological father on earth but was conceived through the help of the Holy Spirit of God. He was the spiritual and only begotten Son of God; sent into the world to set humanity free from slavery and bondage of Satan. He became the most beloved of God simply because he lived a holy life on earth and did the will of God. God attested to his sonship immediately after been baptized by John the Baptist; and on the month of transfiguration in the presence of Peter, James and John “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father” Romans 8:14-15.

God desires everyone living on earth to become His Child rather than being a slave. A child of God is by far different from a slave. A child of God is bold and can refer God as his/her heavenly Father while a slave lives in fear and bondage. A son or daughter of God is born again and does not play with sin while a slave is a sinner, unbeliever or backslider who is prone to sinning. A child has intimate fellowship with Christ while a slave does not. A son or daughter of God is heir of heavenly kingdom while a slave is a property of the devil.

God is not happy with children of disobedience. The children of disobedience are sinners, unbelievers and backsliders. He is not happy with the evil works of sinners. He is not happy with sinners who reject Jesus as Lord and Saviour. He is not happy with backslidden Christians who love the world more than God. The sad news is that all slaves in this world will not inherit the kingdom of God but burn forever in hell.

The Good News is that God loves you and wants to make you one of His Children. You can only become one if you gladly received Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. Jesus has the power to forgive and cleanse you from all sins. He is waiting for you now.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and call to be one of your children. I am very sorry for refusing to obey your call all these while to become your child. I am ready to receive Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour. Have mercy upon me and write my name in the book of life. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit, and make me your obedient child in Jesus’ Name. Amen
