TRACT 70: HEAVEN’S FAVOURITE TUNE?

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” Colossians 3:16

The Saviour Jesus himself was the first to incorporate the singing of hymns in the beginning of Christianity during the Lord’s Supper “And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives” Mark 14:26. Singing has always been a part of worship and praise to God, and angels sometimes join us when we worship God. However, not all gospel songs are acceptable before God and His holy angels in heaven, because songs are either inspired by God or from kingdom of darkness. Below is a testimony excerpted from the Vision of the Power of Spiritual Songs.

“The Spirit of the Lord began to minister to me that many spiritual songs and most hymns that we sing on earth were inspired from heaven, and sing in heaven even in a more glorious and perfected way. Many angels also know the words of most of the spiritual song that we sing and sometimes, when we sing spiritual songs with all our heart, it also attracts them too. Just like immoral songs attracts demons; so also spiritual songs and hymns do really attract angelic being. Sometimes, they even join you and sing the exact song with you whenever you worship God. But your physical eyes cannot see them and you don’t know that they are there. More so, the Lord Himself is attracted to us and magnified the more when we worship him in spiritual songs and hymns with all our heart “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” Ephesians 5:19”.

There is one human activity that will continue till eternity in heaven. It is the worship of God through songs. There will be no more prayer for daily provision, pardon and protection in heaven but worship. The rendition of spiritual songs and hymns to God by true believers on earth is a rehearsal for the activities in heaven; and those that have learnt to worship God in truth and spirit with heaven’s tune are not far from the kingdom of God. Those that are worshiping God out of polluted heart and singing worldly gospel songs are far from heaven. The sad news is that proud singers and instrumentalists, sinners and unbelievers will not be in the number when the saints are marching into heaven to worship God. They will all march into hell.

The Good News is that God loves you and wants you to be among the saints that will match into heaven to worship Him. He wants you to desist from pride of life, use your talents to glorify Him and sing with grace in your heart. God wants you to worship Him in truth and in spirit with Heaven’s tune. You cannot worship God in spirit and truth if you have not totally surrendered your life to Jesus. Jesus is waiting for you now.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for opening my eyes to know the heaven’s favourite and acceptable tune. I am very sorry for many times I have sung polluted songs. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me from all pollution and worldliness. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to worship you in spirit and truth, and with heaven’s favourite tune, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
