TRACT 66: STOP FUSTRATING HIS GRACE
“For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” Hebrews 10:26
For how long would you continue to frustrate the grace of God through rising and falling in sin? Has it not become your habit to addressing yourself as sinner before God and confessing your sins during hours of prayer? The ignorance of the righteousness of God has made many believers to make the tax collector whom Jesus spoke of in a parable, their epitome of emulation. Of course, the tax collector confessed his sins before God and went home justified while the Pharisee who exalted his self righteousness was not justified before God. The tax collector during his time was not saved but a sinner. A true believer is different from a sinner because of salvation received and availability of sufficient grace to live above sin “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Romans 6:1-2
God desires every repentant sinner to grow from salvation unto sanctification and unto Holy Spirit baptism experience. Remaining at the level of salvation is dangerous for a soul yearning for eternal rest in heaven. A believer falling back into sin is the same as a sinner nailing Jesus Christ again to the cross. He or she might run out of grace as there might not be opportunity to make confessing of sin before passing onto eternal beyond. “Remember Lot’s wife”. She was earlier saved by the angels but lost her salvation by looking back to the things left behind, and became pillar of salt. What of Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus? He did not grow from salvation unto sanctification but fell back into sin and lost forever in eternity.
God is not pleased with sinners who have no concern for the salvation of their souls. God is not pleased with believers who remained at the level of salvation. “An idle mind is a devil workshop” says an adage. God is not pleased with believers who are idle and lazy in spiritual matters (fellowship, prayer, Bible reading and evangelism). The sad news is that all believers who are frustrating God’s grace and grieving His Holy Spirit will be destroyed in hell.
The Good News is that God loves you and does not want Christ’s sacrifice to be in vain over you. He wants you to genuinely forsake sin and cherish your salvation. Jesus wants you to grow from salvation unto sanctification and unto Holy Spirit baptism. There is sufficient grace for you in Christ to live above sin.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and sufficient grace. I am very sorry for frustrating your grace. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me from all defilements. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grants me the grace to live above sin, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
