TRACT 37: ASHAMED OF CHRIST?

“For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his glory, and in his Father’s and of the holy angels” Luke 9:26

Are you ashamed as an unbeliever to confess Jesus as the greatest prophet, Son and Saviour of the whole world because of ridicule and humiliation from family members and your religious group? Are you ashamed as a sinner to surrender your life totally unto Jesus because of mockery from friends and fear of forfeiting sinful pleasures? Are you ashamed as a backslidden Christian to retrace your steps back to Christ because you stand a chance of forfeiting worldly pleasure and recognition? Are you ashamed as Christian to carry your Bible and make Christ known to all men? If so, Jesus shall be ashamed of you in eternity “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels” Mark 8:38.

It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) make Jesus their Saviour, Lord and Friend; and known everywhere. To make Jesus the Savour is to acknowledge the fact that God sent him into the world to die and save the world from sin. To make Jesus Christ the Lord is to allow Jesus have total authority over one’s life. To make Jesus Friend is to love others as Jesus love the world. No one can say he loves Jesus if he does not love others as his own self. To make Jesus known everywhere is to live a Christ-like life visible to others, and share the gospel of Christ by all means (verbal evangelism, social media, tracts distribution and others)

God is not happy with unbelievers who are fond of rejecting the gospel of Christ and evangelism tracts given to them by gospel preachers. God is not happy with sinners who always postpone their hour of salvation and remain adamant in sin. God is not happy with backslidden Christians who have abandoned their Christian zeal for worldly pleasure. God is not happy with disobedient Christians who are ashamed to carry their Bible and preach the gospel of peace. The sad news is that no sinner, unbeliever, backslidden Christian will enter heaven to see the glory of God, Jesus and the holy angels.

The Good News is that God loves you. Jesus was shameful tortured and disgraced so that you can have life eternal. He was reproached, falsely accused and suffered excruciating pain for you on the cross of Calvary. God wants you to repent from sin, unbelief and disobedience. You do not have any reason to be ashamed of Jesus. Make Jesus your Saviour, Lord and Friend today and he will not be ashamed of you in eternity.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and disobedient child. Forgive my sins and disobedience. Hence forth, I will not be ashamed of you again. Save me, sanctify me, Baptist me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to live in full obedience to your word in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
