TRACT 32: FORSAKEN BECAUSE OF YOU
“Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lamasabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:45-46.
Why did God forsake His Son on the cross of Calvary? God forsook His begotten Son because he carried the sin of the whole world upon himself and His eyes are too pure to behold sin. Jesus was sent into the world to pay the greatest price of redemption once and for all for humanity. The price required the blood of sinless man other than animal. No other prophet born into the world before and after Christ had the sinless qualification save Jesus. The process of redemption required God to forsake Jesus. For three hours, there was total darkness over all the land while the kingdom of darkness rejoiced that Christ mission on earth was ended. Thank God, Jesus submitted himself for the redemption process and committed his spirit unto God “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost” Luke 23:46.
It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) forsake sin and secure their lives in Christ. The prayers of sinners are abomination unto God, and only prayer of sinners God answers is the prayer of repentance from sins. No sinner is too bad for God to forgive. God wants all repented sinners to secure their lives in Christ by making him Lord over their lives and living by every bit of his words under the Holy Spirit guardian. He wants all sinners to appreciate the excruciating pain Jesus passed through on the cross of Calvary. Jesus knew before hand that the redemption work would not be easy. He prayed the Father three times at Gethsemane to allow the cup pass over Him but surrendered to His will.
God is not happy with sinners who have not been to cross of Calvary for cleansing and forgiveness of their sins. God is not happy with unbelievers who hold on to the belief that Jesus was never crucified. God is not happy with backslidden Christians who have not forsaking worldliness for Christ but living double standard lives. The sad news is that sinners, unbelievers and backslidden Christians will all perish in Hell fire. The God News is that God loves you. He allowed Jesus to redeem you with is precious blood on the cross of Calvary. He wants you to approach Him in humility of heart and confess your sins to Jesus. He wants you to surrender your life to Jesus and make him Lord over your life. Jesus is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for not sparing your beloved Son on the cross of Calvary but made him a sacrificial lamb for me. I am sorry for all my sins and unbelief. Have mercy upon me and forgive me all my sins. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the daily grace to live by every bit of your words in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
