“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” 2 Timothy 2: 5 & 6.
It is a popular saying by some religionists and moralists that we are serving the same God but only with different approaches. How can He be the same God giving instructions to devotees of a particular religion; to marry more than one wife and the other to stick to only one wife; drink alcohol and the other not to drink alcohol; wash in water for the remission of sin and the other not to wash; sacrifice animals for the atonement of sins and the other not to sacrifice animal; kneel before human idols during prayer and the other not to kneel; fight and kill to defend their religion and the other to love and make pace with all men? The truth is that there is only one God and only one way to God. The true way is Jesus. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” John 14:6.
It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) reverence Jesus and approach Him through His sinless Son. Jesus is the only way to God and mediator between the Heavenly Father and humanity. No other prophets, idols or human deity can stand the presence of God for mediation. A mediator is a person who helps to settle dispute between two parties. God caused the world through the first man and woman with death after they ate from the forbidden fruit. But Jesus mediated between God and humanity by offering himself as a peace and sacrificial offering unto God on the cross of Calvary; to redeem man from sin, sickness and death. Jesus was in existence before the world was formed. He was with God when God said “let us make man in our own image”. He came into this world sinless and remained the only messenger that was received into heaven sinless. He is now seated by the right hand side of God mediating between God and humanity.
God is not happy with sinners who have no regard for the crucifixion and message of Jesus. The message of Jesus is the kingdom message of repentance from sin and false worship. God is not happy with unbelievers who are praying in the name of other prophets, human deity and idols. There is no prophet, human deity or idol that can mediate between God and man except Jesus. God is not happy with backslidden Christians who are not worshipping God in truth and spirit but worshipping God after the works of the flesh (Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, and reveling, smoking, tattooing, stealing, lying and corrupt practices). The sad news is that all people who are not worshipping God in truth and spirit through Jesus will not enter heaven but hell.
The Good News is that God loves you and He wants to save you from sin and false worship. He wants you to always approach Him through Jesus. It is only Jesus that can make intercession for you before the Heavenly Father. He wants you to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior so that you can reign with Him in heaven. He is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for showing me the way. Have mercy upon me for not reverencing your beloved righteous Son and for the false worship I have rendered unto you. I am ready to become follower of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, Baptist me in the Holy Spirit and grants me the daily grace to be in true fellowship with you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
