TRACT 22: AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH
“For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” Matthew 24: 38-39.
There were many people on the surface of the earth in the days of Noah living carelessly but Noah was only preacher of righteousness. He warned the people to repent from evil imaginations, wickedness and violence but they remained adamant and provoked God the more. God instructed Noah to build an ark as a means of refuge from impeding destruction. He rained down heavy rain for forty days and forty nights, and wiped out all living creatures on earth with floods of water save Noah, his family (wife, three sons and sons’ three wives) and selected animals, which took refuge in the ark. “And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eight person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly” 2 Peter 2:5.
It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) take refuge in the new ark of God. The old ark was the Noah’ ark; a very large ship-like vessel with three stories while the new ark is Jesus. There are signs everywhere that the world is coming to an end, yet people are living carelessly not minding death or rapture. God’s word is reaching out just as it went forth in the days of Noah. His word is calling on sinners, unbelievers and backslidden Christians to repent from sin, unbelief and backsliding and seek refuge in Jesus. The corrupt people in the days o Noah saw Noah, his family and animals entering the ark, made no attempt to enter but perished in the rain and floods of water which lasted for twelve months and few days.
God is not happy with sinners who are following the same path that the people in Noah’s generation followed; behaving violently, committing sexual immoralities, having evil thoughts, indulging in drunkenness and sins. He is no happy with unbelievers who are not taking refuge in Christ but taking refuge in other prophets and idols. He is not happy with backslidden Christians who have left the new ark of God because of trials or worldly pleasures. The sad news is that those who are not in Christ will perish in the lake of fire.
The God news is that God loves you and does not want you to make the same mistake the people in Noah generation made. He wants you to rush quickly to Jesus and take refuge in Him in order to escape the impeding destruction that will take the world suddenly. God wants you to surrender your life to Jesus now and ask him to save you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for providing refuge for me in Christ Jesus. Have mercy upon me and wash away my sins in the blood of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to abide in your ark in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
