TRACT 18: TRIPATITE MAN

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

Man is a tripartite being having body, soul and spirit. The tripartite being could be represented using three concentric rings or circles. The outer concentric ring housed the body, the middle housed the soul and the inner housed the spirit. It is the spirit of man that is connected to the Spirit of the triune God (Father, Son and Spirit). Man is living a borrowed life and one day, God will take His spirit from man. The soul of man will Journey to either heaven or hell after the completion of pilgrim journey on earth, while man’s body will return back to the ground where it was made. “ And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of Life; and man became a living soul” Genesis 2:7.

It is the will of God that the soul of every man journey to heaven after earth pilgrim journey. God wants to possess man’s spirit with His Spirit. God’s spirit can not dwell in any man, woman, boy, girl or child who is not saved and sanctified with the blood of Jesus. There are three types of spirits. They are Holy Spirit, human spirit and evil spirit. A genuine born again child of God will be freely possessed by the Holy Spirit of God. A sinner has the evil spirit of Satan. The human spirit is not inert. It is either bonded with the Holy Spirit of God or evil spirit of Satan.

God is not happy with sinners who allow Satan to be possessed them with evil spirit. He is not happy with backsliders who are grieving the Holy Spirit from outer concentric body through; idolatry adornments (tattooing, bleaching, nose rings, ear rings, neck chains, demonic attachment of nails, eye lashes and artificial hairs); and adulteration ( adultery, fornication and sexual immoralities); Pollution and corruption (smoking, drinking, gluttony, corrupt scenes and worldly music and dances). He is also not happy with backslidden Christians grieving the Holy Spirit from the middle concentric soul through lusts, impure thoughts, anger, hatred and evil imaginations of hearts). The sad news is that those who are not sanctified in the body, soul and spirit will not make heaven.

The Good news is that God wants your body, soul and spirit preserved for heaven. He is a compassionate and loving father. He sent Jesus to die for you on the cross of Calvary. Jesus Christ can save you, sanctify you and give you the Holy Spirit of God. Repent today and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for making me to discover my life. Forgive me all my sins. Save me, sanctify me, give me the Holy Spirit, and preserve my body, soul and spirit for heaven in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
