TRACT 145: HAVE YOU DECIDED?

''My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me'' John 10:27.

The above were the words of Jesus. Not everyone who professes in songs to be a follower of Jesus is a genuine follower. Jesus' followers are known by the righteous fruits which they bear within (in heart) and without (on the outward). True followers of Jesus have renounced SIN, SELF and SATAN and have chosen to do the will of God.

We can not say we have decided to follow Jesus when we have not decided to forsake the works of iniquity (sin). Jesus said, '' Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in the name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity'' Matthew 7:21-23.

We can not say we have decided to follow Jesus when we have not decided to die to self (pride of life). We can not say we have decided to follow Jesus when the sacred word of God (Bible) and spiritual songs and hymns are manipulated to make fame and promote self glory other than the glory of God. Jesus said unto his followers, ''If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me'' Matthew 16:24. Carrying one's cross and following Jesus is a call to embrace a life of humility, selfless service and love, even when the world turns against us.

We can not say we have decided to serve God when we have not decided never to bow down for Satan because of his promised mammon and riches. Jesus said, ''No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon'' Matthew 6:24. Jesus also said, ''For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36.

Paradventure, you want to truly decide and follow Jesus, kindly sing the third stansa of I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.

'' The world behind me, the cross before me. The world behind me, the cross before me. The world behind me, the cross before me. No turning back, no turning back".

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to renounce sin, self and Satan. Have mercy upon and wash away all my sins. Save me, sanctify me and baptize me in the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name. Amen.

TRACT 146: THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU "For with God nothing shall be impossible". Luke 1:37 You are unique and precious in the sight of God. God thinks of you and has special plan for you. His plan for you is to live a fulfilled life on earth and to reign with Him in Heaven. Zechariah and Elizabeth were examples (Luke 1). Even though they are no longer on earth, the Bible still speaks of them. Their faithfulness to God, even in old age and having no child is an example of inspiration.
