TRACT 135: THERE IS STILL HOPE AT 11TH HOUR

''And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive'' Matthew 20:6-8.

What comes to your mind when you hear the word 11th hour from the biblical context? A last minute opportunity, miracles of healing and deliverance, unexpected blessings or God's amazing grace? Of course, Eleventh hour is synonymous to last minute opportunity. It is a time when God steps into a hopeless situation. The idle men were energetic men waiting for someone to engage them as labourers and get paid but no one till the last working hour. At the 11th hour, a landholder put smile on their faces by a call to join other labourers who had been working hours before. They responded to his call and after worked for an hour, they were remunerated with the same pay as the early workers.

Is there anything too late, hard or impossible for God to do? No! For with God, all things are possible. God is never too late. His promises and words never fall to the ground.

Remember Abraham and Sarah? When it seemed every hope was lost, God visited them and they had Isaac at their old ages (100yrs and 90 years respectively)

Remember Lazarus? He was dead for four days and with no hope for his two sisters but Jesus wiped away the tears of his sisters (Martha and Mary) and raised him from dead.

Remember the woman with twelve years issue of blood? He had an encounter with Jesus and she was healed of her sickness.

Remember the feeding of five thousand (5000) men beside women and children? Jesus miraculously multiplied five (5) loaves of bread and two (2) fishes and satisfied their hunger.

Remember Peter who laboured all the day at work without any catch of fish? Jesus intervened in his business and he had the biggest catch ever.

Remember the thief beside Jesus at the Cross of Calvary? He escaped hell fire at transition by his acknowledgment of Jesus as the Saviour and asking Jesus to remember him in His kingdom.

Dear reader! Jesus is willing to help and to save. Nothing is too late, hard and impossible for God to do. However, the greatest miracle anyone can receive from God is the miracle of Salvation. No sinner is too bad for God to forgive and save from eternal destruction. A sinner does not need to delay until the 11th hour as it is dangerous. Not every sinner might be lucky like the lucky thief beside Jesus who excaped hell at transition. Will you respond to God's offer of salvation and help now?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for rekindle my hope in you. I believe all things are possible with you. I believe in Jesus the Saviour of the world. Have mercy upon me and roll away every shame, reproach and affliction from my life. Make my life a living proof of your goodness for all to see and grant me the grace to walk with you through out my pilgrim journey on earth. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
