TRACT 133: YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT

''Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven'' Matthew 5:14 & 16.

A song writer in one of his stanzas wrote: ''Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do, Do not wait to shed your lights afar; To the many duties ever near you now be true, Brighten the corner where you are"

We live in this world to work (do service for our individual self and others) and worship God. And it is the earnest expectation of heavens that whatsoever duty men render on earth should ascribe glory to God and not Satan. The heart of man is continually evil and producing works of darkness. God has not left the world totally in spiritual darkness in that He sent His Light (Jesus) into the world to lightens the world and to raise lights (true Christians) on earth.

A notable characteristic of light is that it attracts and makes people see in the dark. True Christians through practical lifestyle of holiness shine as lights at home, at work, in the citadel of learning, in public places, on social media; and make sinners come to realization of their sinful state. Practical holiness lifestyle evangelism is a ministry for all Christians and there is no need for ordination by any spiritual leader before showing the light for others to see. You don't have to wait as a Christian to make Jesus known at the corner where you are.

Dear reader! Congratulations if you are a Christian. There are both earthly and heavenly rewards for Christians who shine as lights to sinners living in darkness. A sinner may have the world well but in the end will open his eyes in eternity in hell. Peradventure you are not a light and you want to be among the lights of God on earth, kindly say the following prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for calling me out of darkness into the manifold light in Christ. I repent of all my sins and accept to be one of your lights on earth. Have mercy upon me and save. Cleanse my heart from every work of darkness, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to be a missionary everyday at every corner I find myself. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen
