TRACT 125: HAPPY NEW LIFE IN CHRIST!!!
''Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new'' 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Congratulations for making it into the New Year. You will spend the New Year in good health, holiness, happiness, peace, progress and prosperity in Jesus' Name. Amen.
A new year is like a brand new white booklet gifted to every lucky living soul by the mercy of God; availing everyone another opportunity to begin or continue the new life in Christ, and to write or re-write the beautiful story of one's life for others to see and admire. The New Year offers sinners another opportunity to repent of sins and turn a new leaf. It is also another year for saints to continue in holiness of life as they transverse the earth pilgrim journey.
Indeed, many (saints and sinners, rich and poor, great and small, educated and uneducated, whites and colours) longed for the New Year but could not see it. If it were possible, they would have given anything in exchange for their souls; but it was impossible because ‘‘...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment'' Hebrews 9:27. The saints who died in Christ have nothing to lose because they are in heaven rejoicing with heavenly saints and angels. It is only the sinners who died without accepting the free gift of salvation in Christ that lost everything and currently regretting in the place of torment (hell).
To start the New Year in the old way of life (sin) is a show of ingratitude to God - the giver and taker of life. To start the New Year in unbelief and evil works of the flesh is disregarding the omnipotent God who can permit Satan to destroy both the body on earth and soul in hell. God is merciful and does not bring into remembrance any sin of genuinely repented sinners who are abiding in Christ. Everything about a genuinely repented sinner becomes new in the sight of God just as a new born baby ‘‘Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new'' 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Dear reader, it is the desire and demand of almighty God from everyone to transverse each day, week, month and season of the New Year in holiness (in Christ), service to God and humanity; as a show of appreciation to him. Having known this, what is your decision?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for making me to see the New Year by your mercy. I want to start the New Year in newness of life in Christ and I repent of the old way of life. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me in the precious blood of the Lamb Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace not to rubbish the new year in sin. Help me to abide in Christ all the rest of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
