TRACT 123: IT IS NOT LATE

''Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?'' John 11:25-26.

Sometimes, unpleasant realities in one's life could form an impression that all hope is lost. A sinner who is lost in sin could think that he or she is too bad for God to forgive and too late to turn back to God; while a saint who is always confronted with several challenges of life may conclude that all hope on earth is lost except that of heaven. All hope is not lost as Jesus can make the worst sinner a saint; and make a saint triumph over trials and tests of life.

During the ministry of Jesus on earth, he did what is humanly impossible. He gave hope to the hopeless, made sinners saints, healed the sick and handicapped, freed the captives of demonic oppression, controlled nature, miraculously provided foods and drinks to the multitudes; and notable among the miracle was the raising of 4 - days dead Lazarus.

Lazarus' sister (Martha) had initially sent for Jesus to come and heal her sicked brother but Jesus delayed. When Jesus finally came, Lazarus was already four days dead. Martha lost hope and thought Lazarus would only resurrect on the day of resurrection when Jesus mentioned of Lazarus being raise again. Jesus with thanksgiving to God raised Lazarus back to live and did what seems to be too late and humanly impossible. Irrespective of how great life problems are, there is hope in Christ.

The first miracle a sinner can ever receive from Christ is the miracle of salvation. God still loves a sinner irrespective of how deep he or she has gone into sin. Jesus does not express joy in sinners' sorrow and pains. He has the power to wash repentant sinners from sin and cloth them in garment of righteousness. All he expects is for the sinners to genuinely repent of sin and turn to him wholeheartedly.

Dear reader, kindly make the first move by surrendering your life totally to Jesus and see how he will decorate your life with the garment of righteousness and glory; and how he Will turn your tests and trials to testimonies. God loves you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me hope in Christ. I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I seek your mercy and help. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and clothe me with the garment of holiness and glory. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
