TRACT 118: WRITTEN IN RED

"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel" Mark 1:15.

The Holy Bible (KJV) is written in black and red; while the Old Testament's words are black, that of the New Testament are black and red. The words in red are the spoken words of Jesus Christ. They are written in red to help readers pay close attention to what Jesus said during his earthly ministry and after his ascension into heaven. Jesus' first ministerial words according to Mark's Gospel were "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel".

What time is fulfilled? It is the continous time for the manifestation of Jesus as the Saviour (Messiah) of the world from sin, sickness and Satan. God said it, Old Testament's prophets prophesied it and angels also announced it that messiah would come. He finally came and the laws and prophets are fulfilled in him (Jesus). Jesus is now the word of God that all living souls on earth must reference, hear, follow and obey in order to be righteous before God. This time is the church age period; a period for the true followers of Jesus to continue with Jesus' work of fishing and harvesting souls of men into the kingdom of God. It will end at rapture.

What Kingdom of God is at hand? The kingdom of God at hand is the Kingdom of heaven. It is built with precious gemstones and has many mansions. The streets are made up of pure gold. It is the place of everlasting joy and worship; an abode of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Holy Angels and Saints. Jesus is presently there preparing a place for repented souls who are faithfully doing the will of God on earth. At death or rapture, obedient followers of Christ would be received into heaven to reign with him.

Why must you repent from sin, unbelief and backsliding? It is a must for sinners, unbelievers and backsliding Christians to turn away from sins, evils, worldliness, disobedience, idolatry and unbelief; because genuine repentance is the first step that qualifies anyone for the free gift of Salvation from Jesus. Without genuine repentance, you cannot be saved.

What Gospel must you believe? The Gospel you must believe is "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16. Jesus shed his blood on the cross of Calvary to attorn for the sins of humanity, died, resurrected and he is in heaven seated on the right hand side of Almighty God. It is impossible to believe the gospel message and not turn away from sinful lifestyles. Only those who believe the gospel would enter into the kingdom of God.

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of eternal life through your Son Jesus. I repent of all my sins and I believe the gospel. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me in precious blood of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to be a true follower of Jesus. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
