TRACT 107: PEACE BE UNTO YOU!!!

''Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me'' Revelation 3:20.

A story was narrated by my teacher during primary school days. It was all about three ladies whom their pastor told that Jesus would pay them a visit in their respective houses the following day. They rushed home joyfully and made adequate preparation for Jesus. On the very day, each of them prepared a delicious meal, set it on a table and anticipated the knock of Jesus at the door.

The first lady received a knock, opened with gladness but instantly became unhappy to see a lamed man with tattered cloth begging her for food to eat. She became furious, spoke roughly to the man; and asked him to take his leave quickly because she was expecting an important guest. The second lady also heard a knock at her door. Her happy countenance changed immediately when she saw a lamed man begging her for food. She drove the lame man away likewise; shut her door and still waiting for Jesus. Lastly, the lamed man went to the third lady and locked at her door. The lady opened her door and watched him as he begged her for food to eat. She had compassion on him, took him in and gave him a portion of meal which she prepared for Jesus. While eating, the lamed man told the lady that he is Jesus. He changed to Jesus and the lady was elated to behold the glory of Jesus. Jesus appreciated her for opening the door, blessed her and disappeared. She joyfully ran out of her house to meet the other two ladies, who were still expecting Jesus. On hearing her narration and encounter with Jesus, they cried and wished they had gladly received the lamed man.

Jesus will never force anyone to open the door of his/her heart for him. He does not use any weapon of war to make people his followers. He comes humbly as sheep and gently knocks at the doors (hearts) of sinners, unbelievers and backsliders. His first words are always ''PEACE BE UNTO YOU''. The Bible records these during the visits he made to many people after his resurrection (John 20:19, John 20:21, John 20:26, Luke 34:36). Jesus commanded his followers to always say ''PEACE BE UNTO YOU'' before preaching the kingdom of God ''And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again'' Luke 10:5-6.

When the peace of Jesus Christ is gladly received, there is freedom from sin, sickness, self, sorrow, shame and Satan; and one with the help of the Holy Spirit, begins to live a new life that glorifies God. To have peace of God, first of all requires a humble heart which is eager to listen to the gospel of Christ. The question is, are you humble? As a sinner/unbeliever, do you turn down those people God always send to give you tracts and to show you the kingdom of God? For your information, Jesus did not bring any religion into the world but the heavenly kingdom on earth. When the message of the Lord hits you as backslidden Christian who is lost in the world of ungodliness (immoral dressing, corrupt videos, music, speeches and pictures, and ungodly lifestyles), are you always offended? If you are or do, you will cry and regret forever in eternal lake of fire when you die.

The Good News now is that Jesus loves you and he is still knocking at the door of your heart. He wants to enter and set you free from sin, sickness, self, sorrow, shame and Satan; and grant you peace of man that will last till eternity. Please, be humble and kindly open the door of your heart by saying the following prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and for sending Jesus to me. I repented of all my sins/unbelief and gladly receive Jesus into my heart. Have mercy upon me and wash me in the precious blood of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to make you Lord of my life daily, in Jesus' Name. Amen
