TRACT 105: WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN

''And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many'' Matthew 27:52-53.

An extra ordinary thing happened in the soul's world immediately Jesus gave up the ghost. The graves were opened, and the dead saints arose at the arrival of Jesus for their redemption from the curse of death. They came out of the grave immediately after the resurrection of Jesus and appeared unto many in the city of Jerusalem. Where did they go after their reappearance on earth, heaven or hell? Of course, their bodies celestially united with their souls and ascended into heaven; because Jesus collected the keys of death from Satan and loosed them '' I am he that liveth, and was dead, and, behold, I am alive forever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death'' Revelation 1:18.

Who are the saints in this present dispensation? The saints are the true followers of Jesus who are recognized by other people as having an exceptional degree of holiness in lifestyle close to that of Christ. They are holy in heart, in appearance and in lifestyle (in modest dressing, actions, fellowship with God and relationship with people). When saints die, their souls immediately go into heaven and not Abraham bosom or purgatory. Their bodies on earth will be united with their souls during rapture.

A song writer wrote:
O when the saints go marching in, O when the saints go marching in, O Lord I want to be in the number, O when the saints go marching in.

The question is that where would your soul march into after death or during rapture, heaven or hell? Sinners, unbelievers and backslidden Christians would not be received into heaven. The heavy loads of sins, unbelief and carnality would prevent them from ascending and marching into heavens. Instead, they would be marched down into the kingdom of darkness; and cast down into hell by Satan and his demons. What a sad ending for unrepentant sinners, unbelievers and backsliders!

The Good News is that it is never too late for you to be numbered with the saints that would march into heaven. To be in the number, you need to repent from all sins, unbelief and carnality. You need to believe in the Lord Jesus; ask him for forgiveness and cleansing in his precious blood. Above all, you need to keep following Jesus. You are not too bad for Jesus to forgive. Jesus is waiting for you and pleading on you to humbly say the following prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and call to be a saint. Forgive me all my sins and cleanse me in the precious blood of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me and baptize me in the Holy Spirit. Write my name in the book of life and grant me the grace to remain a saint throughout my pilgrim journey on earth in Jesus' Name. Amen
