TRACT 101: A NEW LIFE (It’s Time for a New Start)

''Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new'' 2 Corinthians 5:17.

A New Year is like a new book containing blank white pages presented by Almighty God to every living soul to start writing afresh about oneself. Many (rich and poor, young and old, educated and illiterate) desired to see another year but were no more and currently in eternity beyond. The demised souls that lived the earth after the work of the flesh are presently burning in Hell while those that lived after the Spirit are presently rejoicing in Heaven. To start and continue the new year in sin is rubbishing the new book and a show of ingratitude to God while starting the new book with Christ according to the fruit of the Spirit is a show of gratitude to God for being among the living souls ''Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, Witchcraft, hatred variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in the time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are in Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts'' Galatians 5:19-24.

In appreciation to God for sparing our lives to see another new year, courtesy demands that everyone start s living a new life and seize from living after works of the flesh. A new life is only possible in Christ and a life without Christ is a meaningless life. In Christ, there is salvation, sanctification and Holy Spirit baptism. In Christ, the new book is not rubbished but daily beautified with the nine fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance). Jesus is the merciful Saviour, who always hear the repentance prayers of sinners and no sinner is too bad for him to forgive.

The former years either lived in sin or holiness is past and the New Year is presently on. God is more interested in the present; because it is the present that determines one's future in eternity (Heaven or Hell). Someone who lived holily in the past years but start rubbishing the new book after the works of flesh is the same as someone who was a sinner in the past years and still a sinner in the present year. Over time, the message of the Lord has been reaching out; calling on every living soul to desist/repent of sin and worldliness (putting sensual wears, seductive make up, corrupt videos, music and speeches, smoking, sexual immoralities, hair dyeing, bleaching, lip painting and tattooing, and evil works of the flesh). But the sad news is that many still remain adamant, turning deaf hears to heavenly warnings and forgetting the eternal doom which await them in hell.

The Good News is that God loves you and He is still beckoning on your to abstain from sin and worldliness. He spared your life to see the New Year so that you can amend your ways and save your soul from hell. He wants you to start the New Year on a beautiful note by surrendering your life to Jesus Christ. He wants you to have a resolution of attending Bible believing church regularly this year; studying the Bible, having daily quiet time and telling others about Jesus. Jesus is waiting for you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and for making me to see another year. I am very sorry for living the previous year in sin and worldliness. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me in the precious blood of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit, and grant me the grace to beautify my new book (life) with the nine fruit of the Spirit, in Jesus' Name. Amen
