''And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary...And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women...And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS'' Luke 1:26-31.
The only personality ever born into this world by virgin birth still remains Jesus. Every other persons born into this world is/was a product of seeds union between a man and a woman. Jesus was not conceived in sin but conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. He was sin spotless and became the only spotless sacrificial Lamb of God for man's redemption from sin and death. The virgin birth was spoken of the LORD to prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the holy virgin Mary ''Behold, a virgin shall be with a child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us'' Matthew 1:23.
The Angels of the LORD brought good tiding to the shepherd that the Savior was born; and multitudes of the heavenly hosts rejoiced and praise God that the little Jesus was born in the manger where animals were kept, visited by the three wise men and presented gifts (gold, frankincense and myrrh). As there was joy in heaven; so was on earth. A song writer wrote: Joy to the world! The Lord is come; let earth receive her king; Let every heart, prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, and heaven, and heaven and nature sing.
The sad truth was that not all the world received Jesus as King and Saviour. It first started with King Herod. Herod became jealous of Jesus as the new King. He sought to kill Jesus; killed many little children under the age of two, but God protected Jesus. It continued with the religious leaders and their many followers. They also became jealous of Jesus and hated him for doing good; healing the sick, setting the captives free from demonic oppression, raising the dead, providing for the needy, teaching the undiluted word of God and preaching the kingdom of God. They arrested Jesus, scourged him, naked him, crucified him on the cross and killed him. They were oblivious that Jesus was sent to die for the sin of the whole world. Jesus resurrected and fulfilled the work of total redemption of man from sin, curse, sickness, Satan and death. The question is, are you among the people rejecting the Saviour Jesus?
The Good news is that God loves you and wants you to repent from sin and unbelief. He wants you to gladly receive Jesus into your heart with Joy. Jesus has the power to deliver you from the power of sin, self, sorrow, sickness, Satan and dead. He is ready to wash away all your sins and make you beloved child of God. He is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and for sending Jesus to me to save me. Have mercy upon my sins and unbelief. Fill me with joy overflow. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to live for you all the days of my life, in Jesus' Name. Amen
