TRACT 64: SPOTLESS GARMENT?
“Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white rainment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels” Revelation 3:4-5
Just as a tiny small dot of ink on a white paper is the center of focus at first sight; so it is for the little sin in man before God. It is not everyone who bears Christian name or goes to church that is garment is pure before the eyes of God. Jesus Christ was right when he said that there were few Christians in the church of Sardis which have not defiled their garments. Every sin be it little or great is of great magnitude before God, because His eyes are too pure to behold sin. The Holy Spirit cannot reside in the body that is defiled with sin; and only saints with unspotted garment will be counted worthy to walk with the Lord in His glorious heaven “Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment” Ecclesiastes 9:8
God demands an hundred percent holiness and obedience from man because He is perfectly holy. Sinners, unbelievers, backslidden Christians should not be deceived by the erroneous belief that no one can be hundred percent holy and provided one’s good deeds surpasses bad deeds, God will accept. The little sin which originates from the heart always results into great and more terrible sin. There is no difference between a sinner who commit sexual immoralities and someone who from the heart lust after opposite sex. There is no difference between an idol worshipper and someone who is materialistic. Neither is there difference between an unsanctified believer and an unbeliever. All are counted sinners and defiled before God.
The eyes of the LORD are too pure to behold the nominal Christians whose hearts are defiled with impure thoughts and whose lifestyles conform to that of the world. The eyes of the LORD are too pure to behold sinners who live after the works of flesh (Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, anger, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, and reveling, smoking, stealing, lying tattooing, idolatry adornments and corrupt practices). The eyes of the LORD are too pure to behold the lives of unbelievers who practice self righteousness and washing in water for the cleansing of sins. The sad news is that all sinners, unbelievers and sinners whose lives God cannot behold will have lake of fire as their eternal destination.
The Good News is that God loves you and wants to make your life pure within and without. He wants you to come to the Saviour Jesus for physical and spiritual cleansing. Only Jesus can cleanse from sin. Jesus is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and call to be holy within and without. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me in the precious blood of Saviour Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to remain spotless in your sight in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
