TRACT 60: KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and be with me” Revelation 3:20
What a humble Friend God gave the world! The gentle Saviour left his glorious heavenly abode for earth to save and preserve humanity for heaven. He was born by Virgin Mary in a place where domestic animals were kept. Messiah grew up and became servant instead of exercising Lordship over men. He washed his followers’ feet and served them on the table. He humbled himself before God to the extent that people found it difficult to identify him among his followers. He went about doing good; preaching the kingdom of God, teaching the way of holiness, healing the sick, setting the captives free from demons, forgiving sins, lifting the burdened souls and raising the dead. Jesus did no wrong but was falsely accused by jealous religion leaders; and condemned to die on the cross on Friday. He resurrected on the Sunday and ascended back into heaven to prepare beautiful mansions for those who received him, and those who would still receive him “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” John 1:11-12.
The desire of God for humanity is that all should open the doors of their hearts to Jesus and be preserved for His heavenly kingdom. No one can protect or preserve his/her life from Satan without the help of Jesus. Satan is always moving about deceiving men into sin and his mission is to steal, kill and destroy souls of men in hell; but Jesus came to make disciples of men and to preserve souls for heaven. Jesus will never force himself into the heart of any person but will knock and wait patiently for an invitation from a willing heart before he can enter. He came not to steal or kill but to give abundant life.
It is a pity that many sinners will not open the doors of their heart to Jesus but widely open them to the demons in charge of sexual immoralities, alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, tattoo, anger, evil thought, hatred, corrupt speeches, gluttony, witchcrafts and evil practices. It is a pity that many hardened unbelievers will not have Jesus as a guest but welcome into their hearts demons in charge of idolatry and religion of self righteousness. It is a pity that many backslidden Christians will not surrender their hearts totally to Jesus but continue to welcome the demons in charge of worldly music, ungodly movies, and seductive wears. The sad news is that sinners, unbelievers and backsliders, if not humbly open the doors of their hearts to Jesus, will be destroyed in hell by Satan.
The Good News is that God loves you and Jesus is still waiting patiently at your door. God wants you to humbly open the door of your heart to Jesus. Jesus has the power to cleanse your heart from sin and evil thoughts. He has the power to drive away evil spirits from your heart and replace them with the Holy Spirit. Jesus is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and for keeping Jesus waiting patiently at the door of my heart. Have mercy upon me and forgive me all my sins. Come into my heart Lord Jesus to stay. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and preserve me for your glorious heavenly kingdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen
