TRACT 55: AS SIMPLE AS ABC
“For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” Luke 11: 10. The three basic spiritual experiences freely provided by God for all living souls to have before being secured of heaven are salvation, sanctification and Holy Spirit-baptism. It is now left for everyone to ASK (A-Ask; S-Seek; K-Knock) and receive in faith “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” Matthew 7:7.
Salvation is the forgiveness of sin and deliverance from its consequence (eternal death). It is in Jesus only that salvation is found and not in any prophet “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name in heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” Acts 4:12.
ABC of Receiving Salvation
A – Acknowledge that you are sinner.
B – Believe that Jesus died on the cross to save you.
C – Confess your sins, forsake and follow Jesus.
[Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8-10; John 3:16; Romans 10:10, Proverbs 28:13]
Sanctification is the cleansing of heart from evil thought. It is the blood of Jesus that cleanses the heart while the word of God maintains its purity by keeping it from sin “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee” Psalms 119:11.
ABC of Receiving Sanctification
A – Accept the Word of God into your heart.
B – Beware of evil thought and resist the tempter with the word.
C – Continue living by the word of God (..in lifestyle of holiness)
[Psalms 119: 9-11; Luke 8: 8,15; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Matthew 4:4]
Holy Spirit-baptism is the enduement of power from on High (Heaven) upon saved and sanctified believers which guides into all truth and energizes unto good works of saving others for Christ. It is only through Jesus the Holy Spirit is given “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me” John 15:26.
ABC of Receiving Holy Spirit
A – Abide in His Presence (…in prayer and fellowship)
B – Beautify yourself daily with the nine fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance)
C – Continue in the service of God (..soul winning)
[Acts 2: 1, 4; Acts 10: 44; Galatians 5:22-23; Acts 1:8]
The choice is yours to ask the Saviour Jesus to save you; to be an earnest seeker of sanctification; to knock heaven for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the free gifts of Salvation, Sanctification and Holy Spirit-baptism. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and Jesus died on the cross to save me. Forgive me my sins. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grants me the grace to continue saving others with the ABC message of salvation, sanctification and Holy Spirit-baptism in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
