TRACT 48: JOY IN HEAVEN
“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repent” Luke 15:10.
What a loving and compassionate Saviour Jesus who wants all sinners and unbelievers to come to repentance and be saved! We read in the book of Luke chapter fifteen how Jesus directed parables unto the self righteous religion leaders who murmured when the publicans and sinners drew near unto him to hear God’s word. The first parable illustrated how a shepherd would rejoice over a lost sheep when found than the ninety nine that were not lost. The second parable illustrated how a woman would rejoice over a lost piece of silver coin that was found more than the remaining nine that were not lost. Jesus spoke these parables to show how heavens rejoice whenever a sinner returns to God. The lost are sinners and self righteous religionists; God sent Jesus to save the lost “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost” Matthew 18:11.
It is the will of God to rejoice over repentant sinners and unbelievers. The eyes of God are too pure to behold iniquities and no sinner can stand His presence; that was why He sent Jesus into the world to seek the lost and relate with them. Jesus did not condemn sinners but related with them for the purpose of bringing them to repentance and fellowship with the heavenly Father. God wants all sinners and unbelievers to humble themselves and come to Jesus for salvation.
God is not pleased with sinners who are not making any effort to come to Jesus for salvation and cleansing in his precious blood. God is not pleased with self righteous leaders who disbelieve in Jesus as the Saviour; and preventing their followers from accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. God is not pleased with disobedience Christians who are not taking initiative like the shepherd and the woman to seek the lost for Christ. The sad news is that all sinners, unbelievers and disobedience Christians, if not come to repentance will all end up their souls in hell.
The Good News is that God loves you and longs to rejoice over you. He provided salvation for you by not sparing His beloveth Son but shed his blood on the cross of Calvary. He wants you to repent from your sins and unbelief and humbly come to Jesus for salvation today. Jesus is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for seeking me. I come to you in humility of heart to confess my sins and to forsake them. Have mercy upon me and cleanse me in your precious blood. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the grace to remain one of your sheep in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
