TRACT 39: READY FOR THE BRIDEGROOM?
“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, verily I say unto you, I know you not” Matthew 25:10-12.
The parable of the ten virgins who went forth to meet the bridegroom was told by the Saviour Jesus. Five of the virgins behaved wisely and took with them extra oil for their lambs while the remaining five virgins behaved foolishly and took no extra oil for their lambs. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and fell asleep with their lambs burning. Announcement was made at midnight unto them to proceed and meet the bridegroom who was now around. The five foolish virgins discovered that their lambs were run out of oil. They begged the other five wise virgins to give them out of their oil but were told to launch out and buy, for sufficiency sake. While they launched out; the bridegroom came, received the ready wise virgins and shut the door against the foolish ones who were not watching and ready “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh” Matthew 25:13.
It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) watch and get ready for the coming of Jesus. Just as the bridegroom came suddenly and received the ready wise virgins; Jesus is coming to resurrect the dead saints and rapture them with living true Christians into Heaven. The five wise virgins represent true Christians who are saved, sanctified and having the Holy Spirit residing in them. The oil is the Holy Spirit and lamb is the declaration of Christian’s faith. The five foolish virgins represent false Christians who are neither born again nor having the Holy Spirit of God residing them. God’s will for everyone is to become true Christians. It is a pity many profess to be Christians but never born again (born of the Spirit and water).
God is not happy with sinners who are roaming and living in sins. He is not happy with unbelievers who do not believe that Jesus is coming to resurrect and rapture them with true Christians. God is not happy with backslidden Christians who by their disobedience to the word of God have sent the Holy Spirit packing from of their lives. The sad news is that sinners, unbelievers and fake Christians have hell as their eternal destination.
The Good News is that God loves you and does not want you to end your soul in hell fire. He wants you to genuinely repent of your sins and ask Jesus for mercy and cleansing in his precious blood. God wants you to surrender your life totally unto Jesus so that He can baptize you in the Holy Spirit. Jesus is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me of your love once again. I genuinely repent of my sins and I confess you as my Lord and personal Saviour. Save me from sin, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and make me ever ready and watching at your coming in Jesus’ Amen. Amen
