TRACT 33: IT IS FINISHED

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do” John 17:4

He was sent by the Heavenly Father for the great work of salvation; started by observing forty days-forty nights’ prayers and fasting, and received instruction to embark on three fold ministry (preaching, teaching and healing) before going the way of the cross. He was thirty years of age when he started his three fold ministry which he did for three years. At the end of the three years, he went back to God in prayer at Gethsemane to beg the Father not to go the way of the cross; but surrendered to His Father’s will. Jesus finished the work of salvation on the cross of Calvary by surrendering himself as sacrificial lamb for the sins of the whole world “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost” John19:30.

It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) cherish the finished work of salvation and lay hold on eternal life provided by Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Salvation is free but not cheap. Jesus was mercilessly tortured, suffered excruciating pains, died and earnd salvation for humanity. To lay hold on eternal life means to work out our salvation by trembling and living in obedience to every bit of the word of God. There is no eternal security anywhere but conditional security. It is only those who cherish the finished work of salvation and have the two others Christian experiences (purity of heart and Holy Spirit baptism) that are secured in Christ.

God is not happy with sinners living after the works of flesh (Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, anger, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, and reveling, smoking, stealing, lying tattooing, idolatry adornments and corrupt practices). God is not happy with unbelievers who do not believe Jesus is the saviour of the whole world. God is not happy with backslidden Christians whose worldly lifestyles are preventing sinners and unbelievers from coming to Jesus. The sad news is that those who do not lay hold on the eternal life provided by the Lord Jesus will end up in eternal damnation.

The Good News is that God love you. He wants you to cherish the finished work of salvation provided by the Lord Jesus and lay hold on the gift of eternal life. He wants you to repent from all evil ways and surrender your life to Jesus Christ. He is waiting for you now.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the finished work of salvation provided for me on the cross of Calvary. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Forgive me all my sins. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and write my name in the book of life in Jesus’ Name. Amen
