“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” 1st Corinthians 6: 19-20.
Imagine you purchased a brand new car and leased it out to a taxi-driver for transportation business with a fixed weekly monetary remittance. And you noticed within just a week that your brand new car has been rough handled and badly damaged by the taxi-driver. How would you feel and what would be your reaction? Of course, you would feel sad and hate the taxi-driver. This is what any sinner sinning against his/her body is doing to almighty God. God gave man a good and wonderful body for the praise of His Holy name but man always corrupt and destroy it. He is too quick to question the handiwork of God and forget that he will give account of the things done in his body one day “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ: that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” 2 Corinthians 5:10.
It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) glorify God in their bodies and spirits. To glorify God in the bodies means to keep the body holy and present it as a living sacrifice unto God. The dwelling temple of the Holy Ghost on earth is not the physical structure built by men but the human body. Holy Ghost cannot dwell in the temple that is adulterated with sexual immoralities and whose heart is corrupted with evil thought. Naturally, man and woman are wonderfully and beautifully made by God but they have sought several means of destroying it. They destroy it through; adultery, fornication, sexual immorality, bleaching, tattooing, smoking, drinking, body piercing and incision watching polluted scenes and pictures, listening to corrupt speeches and music. They also corrupted it with sensual make up (fixing of artificial nails, eye lids and lashes, hair attachment, lip painting, nose ring, lip rings, ear rings and other idolatry adornments.
God is not happy with girls, ladies, women who are always questioning the handiwork of God by abandoning their natural beauty for artificial and worldly beauty. God is not happy with boys, guys and men who are imitating footballers, musicians and celebrities in artificial adornments and feministic outlooks.. Generally, God is not happy with sinners who are fond of destroying their God’s given temples with works of the flesh and sensual adornments. The sad news is that any person who destroys his/her body here on earth will be destroyed forever in the lake of fire.
The Good News is that God loves you. He wants to make you body the residence of the Holy Ghost. He has the power to purify your body, soul and spirit in the precious blood of the lamb Jesus. You are not too bad for Him to accept. He wants you to come to Jesus in humility of heart and surrender your life to him, so that you can appear before him in heaven unspotted. He is waiting for you now.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. Forgive me for many ways I have destroyed and corrupted my body. Have mercy upon me and redeemed me in the precious blood of the lamb Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and grant me the daily grace to present my body as a living sacrifice unto you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
