Imagine how the whole world would be without the sun! Also, imagine how this sinful world would look like without genuine Christians!! Of course, there would be total darkness and total corruption. God sent His Light (Jesus) into the world to illuminate the whole world. The Light illuminated His faithful followers first; called them light and commanded them not hid their light but shine before all. “Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Mathew 5: 15-16.
It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) are light, shinning and brightening the world with holiness and good works. Light is an agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. It is made up seven colours, which are also the colours of rainbow. They are; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violent. Red symbolizes warning; orange symbolizes hotness; yellow symbolizes brightness; green symbolizes freshness; blues symbolizes peace; indigo symbolizes service; and violet symbolizes attraction. Just as the symbolic properties of the seven colours, God wants all the faithful followers of Christ to: warn sinners, unbelievers and backsliders of the danger of sin, unbelief and backsliding which is hell; remain flaming fire unto the Lord, hot and standing for holiness; brightening every corners in the light of God’s word (Bible); grow in good works and freshness of God’s praise; circulate the gospel of peace and love; render true worship to God and selfless service to humanity; live by examples and get others attracted to the Heavenly kingdom.
God is not happy with sinners whose lives are dark and living in darkness of sin (adultery, fornication, sexual immoralities, killing, stealing, lying, corrupt utterances, fans of worldly music and movies, lovers of seductive and sensual wears, bribery, smoking, drunkenness, idolatry, tattooing and corrupt practices). God is not happy with unbelievers practicing false religions and running away from the light Jesus. God is not happy with backslidden Christians whose lights are dim, and preventing others from coming into the light by their ungodly lifestyles. The sad news is that those whose light are dark and dim are going to hell fire.
The Good news is that God wants to make you light. He wants to make you white as snow. He wants to give you peace of mind. God wants to deliver you from darkness, sin, affliction and the power of death. He wants you to humble yourself before the light Jesus. Ask Jesus to come into your life today and illuminate your heart with His Light.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the Light. Have mercy upon me LORD and illuminate my heart with your Light. Cleanse me with the blood of Jesus and make me white as snow. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit and make me the light of the world in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
