TRACT 14: PROFITLESS LIFE

“ For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36.

We came into this world with nothing and each and every one of us will leave with nothing. Our certificates, money, houses, cars, clothes, electronic gadgets and all other possessions will be left behind for others to inherit and use. Our cherished bodies will also be left behind after death. The only thing that will not be left behind is the soul. The soul will embark on journey to either Heaven or hell, and nothing can be exchange for one’s soul. “ Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Mark 8:37.

It is the will of God that each and every one of us prospers in all areas of life even as the soul prospers daily. Human soul needs food, clothing and shelter just as the body. The food for the soul is the word of God which is the Bible. Every one that wants his/ her soul to be in the place of rest after death will always meditate and obey the word of God. The clothing for the soul is daily prayers. It is needed to fortify and protect the soul against spiritual coldness and attack from the enemy. The shelter for the soul is the fellowship. Anyone who wants his/her soul preserve for Heaven will not forsake the assembly of God’s children but always glad to be in the sanctuary of God. Adequate shelter for the soul provides opportunity for believers to encourage one and another to live holily in this corrupt world.

God is not happy with sinners, unbelievers and backsliders living carelessly. What shall it profit a sinners if he shall enjoy all evil works of the flesh (adultery, fornication, drunkenness, smoking, immodest dressing, pride and immoralities) and loses his soul? What shall it profit a religionist if he shall serve God in flesh, observe the entire religious obligations and loses his soul? What shall it profit a backslider if he shall love the world more than the love of God and loses his soul? A life without Christ is a profitless life.

The Good news is that God want you to live a profitable life. He does not want your soul to go to hell after death. He wants you to seek refuge in Jesus Christ. Repent, forsake your sins, accept the free gifts of salvation and become faithful followers of Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die for me and to show me the way to you. Have mercy on me and cleanse me in the blood of Jesus. Save me, sanctify me, baptize me in the Holy Spirit, and help me to daily lay my treasure in Heaven in Jesus’ Name. Amen. MORE GRACE TO CONTINUE IN NEW LIFE
