TRACT 8: THE PRECIOUS BLOOD

“ Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot “ 1 Peter 1: 18 - 19

The shedding of animal’s blood for the atonement of sin was the ancient ordinance given by God as a substitute for sinners’ punishment which is death. God shed the blood of an innocent animal after Adam and Eve committed sin. He made coats of skin for Adam and Eve from the animal to cover their nakedness. The ordinance given by God to men degenerated into tradition, rituals and idolatrous worship; as the blood of unblemished animals could neither saved sinners from sins nor delivered from the power of second death. The only blood that can cleanse from sin, save, sanctify and deliver from the power of second death remains the precious blood of unblemished lamb Jesus. “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” Hebrews 10: 4 & 10.

God is not willing that any should perish but all be redeemed by the precious blood of the lamb Jesus. Blood is the life of all flesh. Jesus remains the only sinless being born of a woman, and ever lived on earth. He was sent by God to fulfill God’s plan of redemption for man by offering his blood; as sin offering once for all and became our high priest making intercession for us before God. What an excruciating and agonizing sacrifice rendered by Jesus on the Cross of Calvary! Jesus shed his blood from; his body when whipped by the soldiers; his hands when soldiers nailed his hands to the cross; his feet when the soldiers nailed his feet to the cross; his head when the crown of thorns placed on his head cut deeply into his scalp, and from his side when one of the soldiers pierced him. We receive remission and forgiveness through his blood; cleanse, save and sanctify through his blood. We receive protection, healing and deliverance through his blood.

God is not happy with unbelievers who neither acknowledge nor believe that Jesus shed his blood on the cross of Calvary for the remission of sin. God is not happy with those who are still shedding the blood of animals for the remission of sins. God is not happy with those who embrace the tradition of washing in water and giving of arms for the remission of sins. God is not happy with backsliders and falling away Christians, who are crucifying Jesus afresh. The sad news is that Satan is happy many are not washed in the blood of the lamb Jesus and on their way to hell fire.

The Good news is that Jesus loves you. He died for you on the Cross of Calvary. He offered his precious blood as remission of your sin. He does not want you to die in sin and go to Hell fire. He wants to give you life eternal in Heaven. He is pleading that you give him chance to be your Lord and Saviour. Come to him in humility now and surrender your life to him; because tomorrow may be too late.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your love. Thank you for sending Jesus to offer is precious blood as sin offering for the remission of my sin. Forgive all my sins, cleanse me, save me, sanctify me, Baptist me in the Holy Ghost and write my name in the book of life in Jesus’ Name. Amen
