TRACT 5: TRUE WORSHIPPER?

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth” John 4:24

                From the beginning of creation till this very present hour, God is still seeking for worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and truth. In an attempt to worship the supernatural being, sons and daughters of men invented and adopted several religions, and none ever met the standard of God.  Many religions have turned idolatrous worship; as a result of inadequate knowledge of the true God. The standard of God as regard worship was not met until the advent of Christ. It was made known to an eager Samaritan woman. “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him” John 4:21&23

                It is the will of God that all (men, women, boys, girls and children) worship him in spirit and in truth. To worship God in spirit means to have the word of Christ in one’s heart, and to worship God in truth means to believe what the word says is true. No one can worship God in truth and spirit without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Today, so many profess to be Christians but merely practicing religious activities and worshipping God out of polluted hearts. They have forgotten that Christianity is not a religion but a daily lifestyle in Christ. Some claimed to believe in Jesus and worship the God of Christians, whereas they neither believe his word nor accepted Him as their personal Savior. How can He be the same God giving different instruction to His worshippers? Many have been deceived by Satan into idolatry, raising up and praying to idols to mediate between them and the supernatural being, while others erect human deity to mediate between them and Jesus.

God is not happy with those who claim they are Christians but render worship to God out of polluted hearts, and go into His sanctuary putting on sensual wears and seductive adornments.  God is not happy with those hardened in hearts, which reject God’s standard of worship through Jesus Christ. God is not happy with those that practice idolatry. Any worship not done in Christ is an idolatrous worship. The sad news is that Satan is deceiving many into idolatrous worship day by day, and he knows the destination (Hell) of worshippers who are not worshipping God in spirit and truth.

                The Good news is that God want you to worship Him in truth and spirit, and this is only possible if you have the Holy Spirit of God indwelling in you. It is only through Jesus you can have the Holy Spirit of God. Repent from false worship and religion. Repent from worshipping God out of polluted heart. Repent from putting sensual wears and seductive ornaments into the sanctuary of God.  Come to God in humility and meekness and embrace the true worship through Christ.

                Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your word through Christ; thank you for sending Jesus to reveal unto me the true worship. Forgive me all the false worship I have ever rendered; cleanse me in the blood of Jesus, save me, sanctify me and give me your Holy Spirit so that I can worship you in truth and in spirit; I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
