TRACT 2:   JESUS’ BROTHER OR SISTER OR MOTHER?

“For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and my mother” Mark 3:35

                One vital purpose of existence of men, women, boys, girls and children on earth is to be in true and constant fellowship with God. True fellowship was initiated in the Garden of Eden and lost when Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating from the forbidden fruits. God restored the fellowship by sending Jesus to raise church and He purchased it with His blood. Jesus revealed his true brothers, sisters and mother as those in His fellowship hearing God’s word and doing it. “Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? And who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother” Matthew 12: 47-50.

                It is the will of God that His children meet regularly in the Church for fellowship. The church is the assembly of blood washed believers. It is owned by Jesus and not by any man. Today, many are engrossed in secular activities, skipping fellowship while others stay back at home, and use electronic and social media as alternative means of fellowship. Some go late to church while some check out before the end of fellowship. Many go to church in sensual wears and some engage in irrelevant activities other than true fellowship, prayer and hearing of God’s word.

                God is not happy with those who are not always presenting their bodies as living sacrifice in his Church. By forsaking fellowship, many are missing the opportunities to exercise their spiritual gifts to serve and encourage others and are always falling and rising in sin. Going late to church is a disregard to God and many have denied themselves of Heavenly blessings as a result of this attitude. God is not please with women with uncovered head and those enter His presence in sensual dresses and adornments as they drive away angels and vex the Holy Spirit. The bad news is that all who fails to do the will of God are on the path of destruction and Satan is very happy.

                The Good news is that God loves you and does not want you to perish but make Heaven. He gave Jesus to save you; to reveal God’s will to you and to show you the acceptable way to live on earth. He wants you to humble yourself and make yourself available always in His presence during hours of fellowship. What a great privilege to be called brother or sister or mother of Christ!

                Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to save me and to show me the way of life. Forgive me all my sins, save me, sanctify me, fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me to continue in your presence in Jesus’ Name. Amen
