“And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live” Number 21:8.
There is a nature inherited by everyone born of a woman that makes one a rebel before God. It is Satan imparted Nature (Sin), and it is only in Jesus that it can be removed. This nature is manifested in a growing child. Buy a biscuit or candy and give it to a little child; ask the child to give you a little out of it. You would be surprised at the child sternly refusal. Who taught the child selfishness? No one save the Satan imparted nature (sin) in manifestation. Sin is a poison that causes death. It was sin that made children of Israel to be bitten by poisonous snake. They became rebellious and soon forgot how God delivered them from Egyptian’s slavery, and how He made provision for them in the wilderness. They cried for mercy and were delivered from snake poison and death by merely looking at a fiery serpent commanded Moses by God to set upon a pole. This was a fore shadow of redemption plan for man’s salvation through the crucifixion of Christ on the cross. “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life” John 3: 14-15.
God sent the greatest messenger with the greatest message of salvation to the whole world. The greatest messenger is Jesus and His message is the Word (Jesus). Jesus came into this world sinless and went through the way of the cross sinless. He voluntarily delivered himself to be hanged on the cross to deliver the world from sin, its poison (sicknesses, diseases and demonic oppression) and its consequence (death). Two thieves were crucified beside Jesus; one despised him and went to hell. The other looked upon him for salvation and life eternal, and he lived. The same message of the cross that saved the sinner on the cross is with us; now in God’s word (Bible). It is the will of God that all will look upon Christ through his word, hid the word in their hearts and be free from sin.
God is not happy with sinners. He is not happy with those who despise and denied the finished work of salvation wrath by Jesus on the cross of Calvary. He is not happy with those who believe that by their human efforts and religious practices, they will enter the kingdom of God. He is not happy that many are not aware they still have Satan imparted nature. The sad news is that anyone who died with Satan imparted nature will perish n hell fire.
The Good news is that God loves you and He wants you to look upon the crucified Jesus and live. He wants to remove Satan imparted nature completely from your life. This can only be possible if you would surrender your life to Jesus. Surrender your life to Jesus now and He will write your name in the book of life.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to the cross to die for me. Thank you for the free gift of salvation. Forgive me all my sins and cleanse me in the precious blood of Jesus. I look up to you for the salvation of my soul; save me, deliver me from sicknesses, diseases and demonic oppression, sanctify me and baptize me in the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
